Happy Halloween with some Christmas cheer

Good Morning and Happy Monday! Oh wow was this weekend crazy. With my power going out and then having to work until 9:30 Saturday and working Sunday 12-7, I am trying to get caught up with everything. Laundry, dishes, homework, playing with my kids, returning emails, blogging........AND to top it I woke with a really bad headache this morning. Hopefully nothing an Aleve and some coffee won't fix. LOL!! Thankfully this is the week that my Professor for 2 of my classes will not be in town so NO CLASS!! So Tuesday night no class and the only class on Thursday I have is my Math class so I can take a test. AND there is only 6 weeks left of this semester (including this one which should be pretty easy going).

Happy Halloween to all!! What do you have planned? Well I was going to skip class tonight and take my kids trick or treating BUT Tony will be in class and I just don't think I could handle taking the 3 lil ones out by myself. It is super cold here today and so I decided that we will not be going out trick or treating. I feel really bad but thankfully they are still super young and they won't remember not going. There are so many more years that we will be able to go! Tony and I just need to get past this next year and then things should calm down a bit (with school at least).

So I know it is not the 1st of November yet and the new kit hasn't officially been released yet BUT I have a super cute project to share with you today that our newest DT member Marlene created using the scrapbook kit.

MARLENE
Super cute!! For more details about this project please visit Marlene's blog. Be sure to stop back tomorrow, here is what we have in store:

  1. Official release of Artful Delight's November kit
  2. New sketch challenge
  3. Another FABULOUS project from one of our Delightful Designers
  4. Welcome our new team (and one last goodbye to some of our current DT)
ALSO tomorrow is the last day to enter this GIVEAWAY!! I reread my post and apparently today's word of the day is SUPER!! LOL!! Some days I use a word once and then throughout the day (or one single post, lol) I notice I use the word A LOT!!!

My sister

Oh what a lovely morning! Let me start by giving a list of things I am thankful for this morning:

  1. heat
  2. electricity
  3. TV
  4. Internet
  5. hot water
These are all the things I was without for about 7 hours yesterday. It may have been ok if I didn't live in an old house and have 4 restless children. Let's start by saying if you live on the east coast you may have experienced this:
Yup, that's snow. Not even November and we get a snow storm. At 9am yesterday power went out. By 10am it was cold enough in my house that we needed to be fully clothed with a few layers. By 1pm we were snuggled under blankets and wearing coats. LOL!! I was supposed to be at work at 1:30pm. I drove down there to get some candles and ask if it was ok I came in later. They were super slow so they didn't mind I didn't come in until 4. I went home and snuggled with my kids. Honestly the 3 lil ones were super warm, didn't seem bothered by the ice cold house. Well since I bought a lighter with the candles, around 3pm I lit the stove so we could make some warm food. As I was headed out around 3:55, just as I was walking out the door the power came back on. OHHHH what a relief. Thankfully we had a couple charged laptops that we could watch movies on for a bit but otherwise it was quite an uneventful day.

So this morning I wake to a warm house, dishwasher and washer running, laptop charging, TV's on and my coffee brewed and waiting for me to drink. All those "luxuries" I couldn't live without.

Well anywho, today I have a gorgeous LO to share with you that Abby created using October monthly kit. There are still some left, click here if you would like to purchase one.

Today you are you

Hello my friends!! Oh what a weekend. Busy, busy....and now we start I think it is week 9 of this semester. Oh I am so excited for it to come to an end. Only 7 weeks left. YAHOO!!

I decided to participate in another challenge, YAY, go me!! The challenge over at Lasting Memories this week is "BLING" it on. So bring out your bling and show 'em what you got. Well for me that was pretty easy because I got an i-rock a week or so ago and have not had a chance to play with it yet. Thank you Courtney for showing me how awesome it is....all your cool projects you make using one. :-)

Now for all you ladies out there that have an i-rock, when you used it the first time did you not know when to stop? Did you just want to "bling" EVERYTHING??? LOL! I found myself not knowing when to stop.

But without further adieu I present my LO. Now I am not sure you can see it all in the picture but it's all there. The flowers have bling, and the "star" doilie things have bling, and then I just did some swirly bling. LOL! I used more papers from Authentique, this collection is called Uncommon. Oh my goodness it is a beautiful collection.

I fussy cut all the flowers and the "doilie" things. I also misted the background paper with Earl Gray mist from Maya Road.

Well that's all for today, stop by tomorrow for the November kit reveal!! :-)

Delight

It is Saturday and I am happy. I only have to work 3.5 hours (well that's the plan as of now, let's see if that changes when I get there) and then I have the rest of the day off. Yesterday I did ABSOLUTELY nothing and it felt great. I finished this LO and then I turned off all the lights and laid on the couch and watched old episodes of Monk. :-) Does anyone else watch that show?

So yesterday I felt not obligated to get anything done around the house, really that meant no homework. I have a take home test to do but it isn't due until next Thursday so I have time. I did dishes and laundry but that's it. So I wanted to play along with a challenge. I saw the challenge at Sketchy Thursdays and I totally wanted to play along. :-)

I was lucky enough to receive a goodie box from Authentique last week filled with some of their new collections. I was so happy when I received the box. I have been waiting to have time to craft with it all.

So all the supplies for this LO with the exception of the frame which is from the October kit is from Authentique. I used paper from the Splendid collection and Free Bird.

Ever since I had a couple Authentique collections in my August kit I have been in love with their products. Their papers are such high quality and their embellishments are so cute!!! LOVE it ALL!!!

Now I would like to point out that tearing/distressing the edges of the paper was really tough for me to do. Not the physical tearing part but the fact that I was tearing the paper. LOL! I am usually a clean and simple straight line crafter. But I really like the way this turned out.

Ok, well I just realized the time and I need to head out. I hope you enjoy and stop by tomorrow for more inspiration from our Delightful Designers using the October kit. :-)

My Memories Suite & my first digital LO (and a GIVEAWAY)

*be sure to scroll down for the giveaway*

Happy Wednesday!!! It's rainy and it's gloomy but it's Wednesday and that means the week is almost over. Not only have I been busy with school, work, and my family but I have been hard at work getting November's kit ready. Wahooo!!! I am excited about this kit, it will be filled with some great products. Be sure to stop by on the 25th to see the kit reveal!!!

Well I have some more fun stuff for you today!! I was recently contacted by My Memories Suite and asked if I wanted to try out their digital scrapbook software as well as offer a GIVEAWAY. I have worked with digital papers and such to make cards but I can't say that I have ever made a digital LO.

My Memories Suite is super easy to download and access. They have a bunch of free kits! Their kits are inexpensive and packed full of digital goodies.

So my first attempt at making a digital LO last night didn't go very smooth only because the program I was using crashed right before I was ready to save the LO. Oh I was so annoyed. It was late and I didn't have the patience to make another one. I woke this morning and had a LO done in 15 min. I downloaded a free kit, it had about 8 papers and some embellishments.

That is my daughter's freshman picture. She looks so beautiful. This is the first picture where she is smiling pretty, she doesn't have a goofy look on her face, and her hair isn't sticking up.

I like how simple this was to create. Now for my personal scrapbooks that I will keep I will probably stick to traditional scrapbooking but I thought if I wanted to make scrapbooks for family it would be perfect because I can have my LO's printed in to a book. Super simple!!!

Now for the fun stuff. Would you like to try out the My Memories Suite? Well I have a giveaway. My Memories Suite was generous and I have the opportunity to offer a My Memories Suite to one lucky commenter.

All you have to do to enter is head over to My Memories Suite and leave me a comment telling me your favorite paper pack or layout.

For extra entries you can follow them on Facebook, Twitter, or on their blog. (just leave me a comment and let me know you did)

Blog- http://blog.mymemories.com/
Facebook- http://www.facebook.com/mymemoriessuite
Twitter- http://twitter.com/#!/mymemoriessuite

That's it. The giveaway will end on October 25th at 11:59pm EST. :-)

Also you can use this coupon code and save $10 off the price of the suite. STMMMS60430

We gotta stick together

Happy Monday my friends. If you stopped by yesterday to see the awesome project created by April and then stopped by her blog you would notice that we posted opposite projects. It was my error. I was in a hurry and I misread what I had planned to post. I was called by my job yesterday at 10:20am asking if I could come to work. I said yes and basically they said "ok it's 10:20 so you can be here by 10:45?" I was still in my pj's and I was just about to make some homemade hamburger buns for our dinner that night. I still needed to shower, dress, make the buns, blog, and be at work in less than 30 min. I like my job, enjoy talking about crafts all day and interacting with people (been home with my kids for the last 4 years, adult interaction is great, lol) but I have been "begging" for hours over the last couple weeks and I keep only getting like 4-8 a week (before working yesterday, they only had me scheduled 3 1/2 hours this week). But in the last week I picked up about 30 hours because I have had to work others shifts who don't WANT to work or who call in at the last minute like yesterday. I don't necessarily mind it except for yesterday when I was TOLD to be in within 25 min. Then when it was time to leave at the end of my shift I was TOLD I COULDN'T until I helped with a few more things.

Anywho, on to the happy fun stuff today.....I have an awesome LO to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Julie created using October monthly kit.

I love the stitching and the misting.......just fabulous. For more details and inspiration please visit Julie's blog. :-)

I hope you both are always this happy

Happy weekend!! It doesn't matter how much sleep I get at night I never feel rested. In all fairness though I don't ever get more than 5 solid hours of sleep. By this point the two older of the little ones are downstairs watching cartoons. But I don't really sleep wondering what they might be getting in to. They are usually really good but that doesn't stop me from worrying. Today, though, I made them climb in bed with me and watch cartoons. It went well for the first 30 min or so then they thought it would be fun to jump all over the place. UGH, momma was tired. Momma IS tired. If I could have one wish right now it would be to have just ONE day (all day) alone to sleep and veg out. Anyone want to volunteer to watch my 3 lil ones and let me 14 year old veg on their couch and watch TV?

Well enough about me and my lack of sleep dilema's (lol) I have a gorgeous LO to share with you today that our Delightful Designer Abby created using the October monthly kit.

ABBY
I love how she used the Melissa Frances picture frame that is included in the kit. Oh this is gorgeous. Not only should you stop by her blog for more details but she wrote a beautiful little post about her sister (the star of this LO), it is super sweet.

Stop by tomorrow, I will have more fun inspiration for you! :-)

Welcome Little Pumpkin

Hello my friends. So I finally finished those baby shower invites. Wahoooooo!!!! I feel so relieved to be done. I was asked to make some baby shower invites for one of Tony's friends. Last year I made bridal shower invites for that same friend (she hosts a lot of showers) and she loved them so much she came back for more. She wanted a fall theme and didn't want me to use much blue. Yikes, I was a little intimidated by the challenge but I had some Crate Paper's Farmhouse collection and I thought it would go perfect. It actually reminded me of a baby quilt. It had some pinks and blues and neutrals.

Then I used a stamp from The Cutietoots (thank you Julie for finding that for me) and I wanted to try my hand at using Copics. What was I thinking??? LOL!! 25 baby shower invites=25 pumpkin images to color. I had fun coloring the first 5 or so and then it became a chore and not much fun anymore.

I did greatly enjoy making these invites. So on top of my kids, school and work I managed to make 25-6x6 in invites with matching envelopes.

The first picture I took a week ago, this was my first card. The wood grain behind the image I stamped using my wood grain stamp and then I used my Spellbinders circle die to cut it.

I wanted to just use vellum and stamp the sentiment on there but I was using Stazon ink and it just bled in to the vellum. Didn't have time to try another ink so what I did was just bought some acetate and stamped the image on there and then used the vellum behind it to fade out the patten paper a bit and make the sentiment a little more bold. The inside of the card was left for all the baby shower info.
I found this great 7.5x7.5 inch box from Michaels to put all the invites in to. I did a little decoration on the cover. I used some lacy ribbon from the September kit and then topped with the handmade pumpkin that Debbie made for the kit to top off the package. Sorry the image above is a bit blurry, it is rainy and gloomy today and I couldn't get a good pic.

I didn't crop out part of my work area to show you what my space looked like when I was done. LOL! And that was just from this morning. I am so happy to be done with those and I really hope she likes them.

Well that's all for today. Stop by tomorrow for more inspiration from our Delightful Designers, using October monthly kit. :-)

Victorian Beauty

Good Morning my friends!! WOW, the last 4 days have been an absolute blur!!! I have barely had any computer time. I feel a bit disconnect. Unfortunately my time the last couple days wasn't taken up by being able to spend it with my family. I think the extra shifts at work that I took on this weekend really affected my kids. Yesterday was the first day all weekend that I had a longer period of time with them and they were extremely clingy. Then last night while I was at work, my sweet Isabel woke up screaming and crying for me. It was about 8pm and Nicki texted me asking if I could call and talk to the kids. Oh it broke my heart. The next 48 hours will be a bit busy too with homework but I am going to make sure I spend some extra time with them as much as possible.

Well I just realized the time and I need to be heading out to take my kids to school. So I will leave you with this super sweet LO created by our Delightful Designer, Julie. She used the October monthly kit.

Oh Brookie, she is such a doll!! For more details about this LO please visit Julie's blog. :-)

See y'all tomorrow!! :-)
