Mini album and Family LO

Good Morning and Happy Monday. I met with a tutor over the weekend to help me make sense of Macroeconomics. I think our time was well spent and I have a little bit clearer understanding of the subject. I am super excited because in 2 weeks I have to take the mid-term and I am really worried about it.

Anywho it is the last day of the month which means the March sketch challenge will start tomorrow, in addition March kits will be shipping. I had a chance to play with the kit yesterday and I had a ton of fun. I would have waited until tomorrow to share it with everyone but I am entering it in a challenge and that ends tonight. In addition I will share with you a mini album that April created using February's kit.

So let's start with the mini album.

WOW, so beautiful!!!February kit had some really pretty papers and I am sad I didn't get to play with it. April's mini is lovely. For more information please check out her blog.

Next up is a LO that I created using a sketch from The Scrappiest.
Not only was the March kit fun to play with but so was this sketch.
Ok, so everything is from March's kit except for the Mini alphas (used for "brothers" and "sisters"), the brown twine and buttons used on the blue flowers and the self adhesive pearls. The Mini alphas are from Basic Grey and just something I had in my stash. The buttons were from December's kit (sold out), the twine was from November's kit (sold out) and the self adhesive pearls are from February's kit (also sold out).

I LOVE the corrugated alphas from Jillibean Soup, they are so versatile. You can use them as is or alter them anyway you like. I have seen crafters spritz them with Glimmer Mist or you can just distress the edges like I did. Those blue flowers I made using a tutorial that Isay presented on Sketches In Thyme's blog the other day.

I really like the way this LO turned out and I can't wait for you to see what the design team comes up with this month. If you are thinking about purchasing a kit this month be sure to act soon, the kits have been selling out mid month. This month I did make more kits though so hopefully we won't sell out. :-)

We do still have a couple past kits for sale, September and October. All past kits sell for $23.50 plus $7.50 shipping.

Have a sweet birthday

Good morning my friends! I hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend so far. Mine is the same as usually, pretty low key, watching my kids play, laundry, dishes, homework....mostly all the things I do everyday of the week. LOL!

Today I have a super cute card I made last night, another one of my moments I had to craft.

I was going to take a short video of the card because the candy machine wobbles and obviously you can't see that in the picture. Unfortunately I am video challenged and the video quality on my phone stinks and I would have to charge the battery for the video camera and tape it, edit it and upload it and for a 30 second video, that seems like a lot of work. LOL!

Anywho, I used papers from Echo Park's A Walk in the Park collection for this card. The candy machine image is from mygrafico, what I love about this store is that not only do they have digital stamps but they also have SVG files to use with my SCAL/Cricut. LOVE it! Ok, so I printed several of the candy machine images on several sheets of pattern paper, then I began to cut and paper piece it all together. It was a lot of work but it was a TON of fun. I used some Glossy Accents to make it look like a glass container (where the candy goes). The sentiment is from Skipping Stones Design, I have had this stamp set forever and I never used it. Thought it was a perfect card for it. Buns-N-Crunches is the name of the stamp set. Super CUTE!

I did a little sewing action on the outside of the card. So my kids must have played with the dials on my sewing machine because the stitch I made on the outside of the card is certainly not the one I wanted but it turned out ok. This is the first time I decorated the inside of the card, I did that because the sentiment I used was kind of a two-parter. LOL!

Now for the super COOL part of the card, the image is popped off the card using an Action Wobble. Have you guys seen these things.
Such a cool product. I bought a package of 25 for $9.95, they just started selling them in smaller quantities. I am going to have to use these more often on my cards, they are awesome.

Anyways, I am going to enter this card in two challenges. The Paper Variety, you were to sew on your project, whether you hand stitch or use a sewing machine and then also to the Sketches in Thyme

Alright well that's it for today. Have you seen the March kit reveal? People are already reserving their kits so be sure to check it out before they're gone. There is an option in my sidebar to reserve your March kit, or if you subscribe to a 3 or 6 month subscription by clicking here you can also reserve a kit.

God Bless the Broken Road

Ok, seriously!!!! This month flew by. I was supposed to post this LO this morning to share with everyone that Julie created using the unfortunately sold out February kit but I TOTALLY FORGOT!!!!

Ok so the LO created was using a sketch from this weeks Sketchy Thursdays challenge. (which I FULLY intend on playing along with) Beautiful, just beautiful. For those of you that don't already follow Julie's blog please head over there to get full details about the LO and some fabulous inspiration. SO SORRY I didn't get this posted earlier.

I was out and about this morning from 8am-1pm....I had my son's speech therapy session, then an hour drive to my daughter's ortho appt, then an hour drive home. I signed my daughter up for Volleyball at the Park District, then I dropped her off at school. I think my drive home from the ortho appt frazzled my brain, for about 45 minutes I listened to a 1 year old scream, 2 year old whine and a 3 year old talk...and talk, and screaming, and whining and talking and screaming and whining and AAAHHHHHHH!!!! Do ya get the point? LOL! By the time I had gotten home my head was spinning, I was so stressed and had a huge headache. Phew..... so anywho, sorry I didn't post this earlier.

On a positive note, I did get to start putting together March's kit. So excited. I will have the reveal tomorrow as well as some more exciting news. And maybe a giveaway!!!

That's all for now, off to do some Macroeconomics......oh and I have a meeting on Saturday morning with a tutor (a student from the college) to help me make sense of what I am doing. Yippee!!

Hang in there

Happy Monday my friends! Can you believe we had 70 degree weather the other day and tonight we have a winter advisory, with possible accumulations of snow 5 or more inches. I am so ready for Spring. Oh well I guess that's what I get for wanting to live in a 4 season state. I would take this over all year round heat any day.

For today's card that was created by yours truly, yay I got to craft this weekend (well only a little, enough to make one card), I used a sketch I saw on Sketches in Thyme.

The image was a freebie over at Just Some Lines. So I only had some textured white cardstock from American Crafts to use for the image which made it a bit difficult to color but it turned out ok. I used Prisma Colored pencils. I REALLY want to learn how to properly use Copics. There is a class once a month at a scrapbook store about an hour away. I am hoping one day to attend. Maybe when I am in between semesters (Spring to Summer) I can make it to one. Anywho, I used papers from Echo Park's A Walk in the Park collection. YUMMY papers!!!

Hello my name is Leeanne and I am in LOVE with Echo Park papers. LOL!

Anywho, I did a little stitching with my sewing machine, I think I am also going to become addicted to that, I LOVE the look! I used some Micro Mini Alphas from Basic Grey. Some chipboard shapes from Cosmo Cricket's Pixie-Licious collection matched perfectly, that would be the button and butterfly.

Well that's it for today. Please don't forget about the sketch challenge for this month, you only have 2 more days to enter. Click here for more info! I hope ya'll have a fabulous day, I am off to make breakfast for my family and then off to school. I am thinking Belgian Waffles! YUMMY!!

Faith

Happy Sunday my friends! Hope ya'll have been enjoying your weekend. We have had some super high winds the last couple days, sounds like a tornado outside. Quick post for ya because for some reason I am not feeling well. Not sure if I am wore out or coming down with the flu. Whatever it is, I don't like it and hope I don't get anyone else sick.

Today I have a fabulous wall hanging to share with you that DT member April created using February's monthly kit (which is unfortunately sold out). I love all the green, just beautiful!! For full details about this project please visit April's blog.

A Happy Birthday card and a GIVEAWAY

Good Morning fellow crafters! I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine's Day. Unfortunately I spent the evening alone doing homework. :-(

Anywho, today I have a fabulous Birthday card to share with you the Courtney created using the February kit. Unfortunately the kit is sold out but I hope you can still get some inspiration.
Gorgeous isn't it??? That pattern paper is one of my favorites in the Once Upon a Springtime collection. Please visit Courtney's blog for full details and more inspiration.

I would also like to mention that Artful Delight's monthly kits have been selling out pretty quick, I will have to adjust the number of kit I put together every month but to ensure yourself a kit please pre-order. You can email me if it is prior to the "reveal date" but what I will do is after the reveal of the next month's kit, I will have a link in my sidebar to where you can pre-order the kit.

Also I have mentioned already that March's kit will include items from the Little Yellow Bicycle's Twig collection. The full reveal of the kit will hopefully be the beginning to the middle of next week (crossing my fingers it's by the 25th). Some of the items in the kit are being released this week so I am hoping to get them in a timely manner) :-)

SO NOW FOR THE GIVEAWAY! Remember when I gave away the American Crafts ZAP! Heat Gun? Well I have another one to give away! WAHOOOOO!!! Please all I ask is you become a follower and leave me a comment letting me know you are. This is going to be a fairly quick giveaway so it ends Friday, February 18th at 11:59pm EST.

That's all for today!

Monday Madness

Happy Valentine's Day!!
Good Morning! The start of another week means I am that much closer to the end of this semester and that much closer to finishing school. I know it has only been 2 semesters but I miss the way things used to be, no stress about school or homework....being able to spend time together as a family, it is so rare these days and it makes me sad being my lil ones are getting old enough to play games. Oh well 2 years of sacrifices to forever change our future is worth it. :-)

Today I have a BUNCH of projects to share with you, I have 4 cards from Julie, using February's kit. I also have a card that I made for The Paper Variety challenge as well as the Valentine's that I made for Nicki's friends. I feel so sad I didn't get to make more. Next year I will be resting up for the following year when my kids start school. YIKES when they are all in school I will have to make upwards of 100 Valentine's. I seriously can't wait, I LOVE IT!!!

Ok so here are the FABULOUS cards that Julie made

Julie truly did an amazing job this month and I am greatly appreciative that she was Guest Designer. I will have one more LO from Julie that will be posted on February 24th.

Next up I have a card that I made for The Paper Variety, the challenge was to incorporate or use a cupcake on your project. I found this cute Happy Birthday SVG file on SVGcuts.com and I thought it would work perfect.

I also used the Cupcake Love collection from Little Yellow Bicycle from January's kit(which is sold out). I used some Micro Mini alphas from Basic Grey on the banner. I used some bling on the cupcake which is from Memory Box, I think I got it from my secret Santa sister, the swap I participated in on the Sketches4all forum.

Next I have some Valentine's treat bags that I made for my daughters friends. She only wanted me to make 10. Here are some pictures.

Aren't they cute? I had so much fun making those! I also got the lil monsters from SVGcuts.com. The talk bubbles were pre-loaded in my SCAL program. The pattern paper is from Cosmo Crickets DeLovely collection. I know not your typical Valentine's colors but they were pink and pretty and that is what I was going for. :-)

Can you believe I didn't have any Happy Valentine's Day stamps, so when I ran out to Joann's to get some jiggly eyes I also picked up a wood mounted stamp set from Inkadinkadoo. It had all kinds of holiday sentiments and it was half off. So it was like $5.

I sponged the edges of the pink talk bubbles with Rose Bud dye ink from Memento and also stamped the sentiment in the same color. For the blue colored talk bubbles I sponged the edges with Broken China Distress ink as well as stamped the sentiment.

I just think they are so cute!!!

Anywho, since this post is so long already I think I will wait until tomorrow to announce the giveaway. I am not sure how long it will last so be sure to check back in the morning. I haven't decided if I should make it only a 24hr giveaway or a little longer. So either way make sure you check back in the morning. I will actually have 2 giveaways this week (I think).

Did anyone see the pics of the wreath that Cosmo Cricket had in their booth at CHA? If so do you know if there is a tutorial for making that or something like it? I really want to make a wreath similar to that and would like to see or read about how they did it. Before I start cutting and pasting I would like to have a visual of how it's done. LOL!

Be sure to stop by Julie's blog for full details about her cards! :-)

Rosettes and Siblings

Oh happy day! My lil man is doing well, doesn't seem to be in pain or discomfort. Plus he hasn't touched his stitches. He will get them removed next Thursday and I am so excited. Tony thinks there are at least 5 stitches in there, maybe more. He also thinks that the way the doc stitched it up that there will be little scar marks. LOL, too funny because the doc was very proud of her ability to stitch a wound, she made a point to tell me she made her own clothes and that she cross stitches. LOL!

Well I am so excited to be able to share some more projects with you that I created. The other day I was feeling the need to make some rosettes. Thanks to the ever so helpful Youtube, one short hour later some rosettes were born. LOL! With those rosettes I made a very simple card.I cut out a top note shape with my Cricut, inked the edges with some Broken China Distress Ink and adhered it to my favorite color card base - Kraft. :-) I then adhered the rosettes and stamped a sentiment from Artfuldelight's Sunny Days stamp set. I may actually send this to my swap buddy, with the mini album I showed the other day.

Up next I made a LO using Sketchy Thursdays sketch. I also got to use some papers and embellishments from the Twig collection from Little Yellow Bicycle. This is a little sneak peak to what's to come in March's monthly kit.

The background paper and scallop paper are both from the Twig collection as well as the butterfly and there is a self adhesive canvas border in there too. I used the wood border flourish (LOVE it) from February's kit there are still 2 kits left and I used some ribbon from November's kit which is unfortunately sold out. The Thickers are a little hard to see in the picture but I can assure you they look good in person, lol. Those are Bones Thickers in Leaf and a few of you might win them in the giveaway I am having. The words at the bottom are from Colorbok. I signed up for something a while back and they sent me a free 12x12 paper pad. It is all beautiful papers in neutral colors and I just love it.

Ok so it's the weekend, hopefully everyone has a little free time to get in their craft room and create something for February's sketch, you have just under 2 weeks to get your entry in. You will have a chance to win March's kit AND a Guest Design spot. Wahhoooo!!

Happy Crafting!!

Holy Projects Batman!

**disclaimer, this is a long post - you might want to grab a cup of coffee, tea, or an alcoholic beverage whichever you fancy**
Happy Friday! Man yesterday was quite a day! I was so happy for it to be over. My lil guy is doing well, he was laughing and playing and having a good time. He was certainly wanting mama a little more (which I did enjoy but not under the circumstances). But he will heal just fine and I will not expect that to be the last visit to the Urgent Care or an ER for that matter. LOL!

Today do I have some great projects to share with you. I have 3 cards that Julie created for us and a mini album that I created a couple days ago and just haven't had a chance to take pictures. So first up are 3 FABULOUS cards that Julie created.

WOW, wow, and WOW! She used items from the February kit, now I would like to point out that the alphas on both cards were not "part of the kit" but they did come in her goodie box. All boxes shipped this month with the February kit in it will get extra crafty goodies in their box. Absolutely fabulous how she was able to incorporate it in with her projects this month, I LOVE it. Oh and I would like to mention the alphas on the first 2 cards are in the giveaway that I am having, there will be 6 winners and those are included in each of the prize bundles. :-)

Ok so now for my mini album I created. I am participating in a Valentine swap on the Sketches4all forum and this is what I made for my swap buddy. Now I am about 99.99999999% certain she doesn't come on my blog so I don't think I will ruin the surprise. I got most of the inspiration for this mini from kwernerdesign.com. She made a mini a few weeks back using a mini album kit being sold at Basicgrey.com. For my mini, I used different paper and the chipboard album I bought at Michaels for $1 a while back. The collection I used is from Echo Park, Life is Good collection. I LOVE that collection. I used a lot of the papers in this album so I may need to buy another collection pack. LOL!

In my opinion it is a wee bit hard making a mini album for someone else because scrapbooking is personal. Each page is special to the person creating it, each album is put together just so. But I thought if I left enough on each page for the pictures and additional embellishments and to allow my swap buddy to personalize it.

Oh and now for my blog award, my FIRST blog award.....I am so excited. I received it from Lisa E at Lisa E Design Blog. I received the Stylish Blog Award! Yippee!!!!

So I am asked to tell you 7 things about me so here it goes:

  1. I am left handed
  2. I LOVE sunflowers
  3. I got to travel to Greece when I was 10, went with my step-mom. We stayed for the whole summer and I LOVED it. I remember so much about it, would love to return now that I am older. :-)
  4. I hate doing laundry, heck I hate cleaning.......I rarely do it, seriously my house gets the bare minimum of attention. LOL! With 4 kids I would like to ask "what's the point" LOL! I mean don't get me wrong we are not "dirty" people, we are "messy" people. There is a distinct difference. :-)
  5. I cannot wait to move back to my home state, Illinois.
  6. I call all my kids by a nickname - My oldest daughter, Nicki aka Boo; Lil Tony (3 1/2) aka Bubby; Isabel (2 1/2) aka Chelli; Max (14 months) aka Pooty - ok so I must explain I think, lol. When my oldest was about 5, I heard someone call their grandson boo and and for some reason called my daughter that one day and it stuck. Lil Tony went through a few nicknames when he was born, first was Jr (daddy is also Tony), then he was Jr Bug and somehow one day Bubby came about and has stuck. Now Isabel was originally Pumpkin, with an occasional Isabelli Chelli. Then one day out of the blue I called her Pumpkin and she corrected me "no ma Chelli" so now she is called Chelli and will correct anyone that calls her any different. LOL! Now Max, LOL he was called Max-i-poo for some strange reason then it evolved to Max-i-pooty-poo (LOL) then it just stopped at being Pooty. LOL! Ok it just cracks me up when I think of how it all came about, but I love it and so do the kids. Heck, my daughter is 13 and still loves being called Boo. :-) (wow that was a long one)
  7. Finally, Tony and I aren't "legally" married. We have been together for just over 5 years. He hasn't proposed yet because we just can't afford a ring right now and he refuses to propose without one. LOL! We love each other and will be together forever, right now that is enough for me. So occasionally I may call him my husband or my boyfriend it just depends on my mood. :-)
So I hope you made it through this whole post if you did, Thank you!! I am supposed to pass this award on but I am just going to give it to all of you, whoever stopped by and read my blog today and made it to the end of this post, you certainly deserve it. LOL! :-)

Well that is all for today, finally, right?

Happy Crafting!!

Day 7 featuring February Guest Designer

Yeah so never a dull moment in my house, just got back from the Urgent Care with my lil Max (14months). We went to Tony's speech session this morning like always and Isabel and Max were playing with the toys they have. One of the toys is a rather large wooden block that has some not so rounded edges. The toy looked a little like the one below. Super cool toy except for when your 14 month old catches his eye on the corner. So we headed to the Urgent Care. After 3 hours he was all stitched up. They told me that the Dr. that came in was the only one that could have done the stitches because his wound was so deep the other Dr's would have sent us to the ER. The Dr. that did it had just come in right after we got there. Here's a pic of my lil guy while we were waiting in the room for the Dr.(you can see the bandaid over his eye.) He doesn't seem upset there but boy when they had to strap him down (literally) I could here him screaming in the waiting room, which is where they made me and my other 2 lil ones wait.

Ok well on to some happy news. I have another LO to share with you that Julie created. I have loved having Julie on the team this month, I will be sad when it's over.

Oh my, Brookie (Julie's daughter) warms my heart with her smile! She is a doll! So I think all the items are from February's kit. That background paper is from Jillibean Soup, super cute! Please stop by Julie's blog for more inspiration, also today is Thursday and that means a new sketch from Sketchy Thursdays. Julie is showcasing her LO using the new sketch. :-)

Oh oh, and did you see the giveaway I have going on right now? Click here to enter!!

Ok, I also won a blog award which I will post about in the morning. I am exhausted after my long morning and plan on going to veg on the couch. LOL!

Happy Crafting!!
