October Sketch Challenge Winner

Wahooo! We have a winner. Thanks to random.org, the winner is

What a fabulous LO. I love the pattern paper she used, it's from Pebbles Inc, May Bouquet collection. I actually carry a bunch of Pebbles Inc paper at Artfuldelight. My favorite collection is the Tree House collection. LOVE it.

Thank you to everyone that participated in this months sketch. Be sure to stop by on Monday to see November's sketch. The winner November's challenge will win December's Monthly Kit.

On an unrelated note, let's talk die cutting machines. Anyone have any suggestions. I used to have a Big Shot from SU but I got rid of it a couple months back. Not really sure why but I am in the market for getting another machine. Anyone have any suggestions? Also any suggestions on your favorite solid colored cardstock? Right now I use SU but I am looking to try something new.

My second Christmas card

Yeah, I need to get on the ball, Christmas is right around the corner and I have only made TWO Christmas cards. Seriously last year I hustled the first week of December to get my cards made. I wait to make Christmas cards like I wait to go Christmas shopping. I swear I go the week before Christmas. I don't know why I do that to myself. Last year I actually went around Thanksgiving but that was only because I was about to have my baby and I was having a c-section so I knew I was not going shopping right after that. Yikes!
Anywho, I played along with Skipping Stones Design Challenge #48. I can't remember the last time I played along with them but when I saw the sketch, designed by Karen Giron.

Yeah I know, crappy picture, but again I am a night crafter. One day I will do something about the pictures. The pattern paper is from Basic Grey's Jovial collection. The 6x6 paper pad is available at Artfuldelight for $5.50. Forgive me but I cannot for the life of me think of the name of the 2 stamp sets I used. I am so bad with that. I know the sentiment is from SU but that's all I have. LOL! The snowman was from a set that I purchased at Michaels last winter. I used some Stickles on the scarf and hat. Can't really tell in my crappy picture. LOL!

Anywho, that's it for now. Check back later as the winner of October's sketch challenge will be announced and featured. I may wait until tomorrow, it will just depend on if I can get a free moment to post it.

My teacher

Good Morning! I finally got to craft last night, oh my it had been almost 2 weeks. It felt so great to sit at my table and get crafty!

The box template I purchased from The Wild Flower Patch. Since I have a Cricut and I use the SCAL program I was able to get the SVG file and have my Cricut cut out the box. Easy peasy.

I first featured that card in September when the monthly kit came out. The card and the box were embellished using Artfuldelight's September Monthly kit. That kit is still available at Artfuldelight. I made the box and the card for my son's speech therapy teacher. Oh how he loves her. Sometimes the only way to get him to bed at night, the night before he goes to a session, is to tell him he gets to go to school the next day and see Ms. Lindsey. The whole way to school he points out every bus we pass and as soon as he sees his school his face lights up. Ms. Lindsey has made his experience with school a happy and positive one and I am so happy she is his teacher this year. Both the card and box have a craft base and then are embellished with chipboard and paper from September's Monthly Kit.

I don't think I have ever posted pics of my kids so today I will share a few with you:

The top two pics are my sweet Isabel and the last one is my lil guy, Lil Tony. He is helping dad take his tires off to check his brakes. Isabel and Lil Tony are the only ones that like to take pictures. Max, who is 11 months, can't sit still long enough to snap a non-blurry photo. And Nicki, my 13 year old, would rather hibernate in her room and pout than get her picture taken. So I have a TON of photos of these two lil ones. :-)

Happy Friday! My Computer Concepts Professor is out of town this week so I don't have class today! Yippee!!

What I have for you today is the last of the guest designer projects created using Artfuldelight's first stamp set "Sunny Days".

I have 5 projects to share with you today. I forgot to share one with you yesterday so I will do it today.

First up, I have 3 projects to share with you that Theresa made.

WOW, all 3 of her projects are absolutely fabulous. Don't you like the treat holder (pic right above)? Super cute!

Next I have a project from Crystal.I just love Kraft cardstock! Super cute card, love all the images!

And last but certainly not least, I would like to share with you a card that Catherine made. LOVE the pattern paper. I like how she stamped the clouds on pattern paper and popped one out. Great card!

I would like to say a huge THANK YOU! To all the ladies that helped with the re-release this week. It was so greatly appreciated. I hope all of you enjoyed what these ladies made and I hope you stopped by their blogs.

Be sure to check back later today, I will be revealing the November Monthly Kit. I think both scrappers and card makers will really like this kit. I am really excited about it.

Day 4 - Sunny Days re-release projects

Good Morning! I am a little late getting this post up, I usually pre-schedule the post the night before but last night I was exhausted. Then, this morning I had my son's speech therapy session. Finally home and relaxing, I am looking forward to uneventful day. This week I have been running around all day everyday, between school and doctor's appointments, it hasn't been slow. LOL!

Yippee, today I have more projects to share with you. First up is Kristina's project.

I really like the font in this set, the curly letters go very well with the whimsical images. Kristina made another fabulous card.

Next I have a card that Catherine createdOh this card is just so cute, I especially love the colors. Super cute projects today! Be sure to hop over to their blogs!

Day 3 - Sunny Days release projects

I kinda feel bad I have not been able to craft lately. I feel tired a lot lately and I just can't get in to the creative mood. Maybe I will take this week to relax and get back in the swing of crafting. Let my guest design team "hold down the fort" for the week.

Anyways, Happy Wednesday! Today I have some more projects to share with you. Here is a project from Kristina

Isn't that LO simply adorable! I love how she used the "Happy Birthday" sentiment to make a border around the picture. So cute!

And next I have another project from Catherine

I really like how she used a black card base so it gives the rest of the card a bit of a POP! She used the cloud, sun and one of the grass stamps for this card. LOVE how she stamped it on pattern paper and cut it out. Great colors!

Be sure to give some bloggy love to these ladies, they did some wonderful projects.

Day 2 - Sunny Days release projects

I have more projects to share with you using Artfuldelight's new stamp set.

The first project I would like to share with you is from Theresa.
My name is Theresa Fredrickson. I live in a small town on the north coast of British Columbia, Canada. I am a widow and recently retired. Gives me all the time in the world to pursue my love of paper crafts.
I started stamping in 1996, about the time we got connected to the internet. I started out small but when I found all the resources online, I was definitely hooked on cardmaking. I have tried all the different
techniques, including quilling, pergamano, teabagfolding, 3-D, etc., but I always go back to stamping. The only thing I have not done is scrapbooking. I know I would not be great at it. I am a great starter, but not
finisher. That is why I love card making. You sit down, start your project and then a few minutes (or hours, lol) later, your project is done. I stamp in a pretty clean and simple style but I do love to add sparkle and
bling. I like white spaces on my cards.
I have enjoyed working with Leeanne's stamp set. It is very versatile and I love how the sentiment stamps can be manipulated to fit around images.

Be sure to check out Theresa's blog, click here!

How absolutely cute is that, it's a tea light holder. I think that is an absolute adorable idea. Theresa used several of the stamps from the set, she used the cloud, sunflower and grass with ladybug. I really like how this project turned out.

Next up is a super cute card from Kristina.

Hi there, my name is Kristina and I am a 39 year old wife, mom, and nanny. I love doing paper crafts and have been scrapbooking on and off for years, but I started to get really serious about it a year ago. My days are filled with drool, bottles, diapers, cooking, cleaning, fur and of course crafting, but I couldn’t do any of it without coffee! I love being a part of the online crafting community, it provides me with so much inspiration and support. You can learn more about me on my blog, Kristina's World.

So bright and cheerful. Kristina used the clouds and one of the sentiments from the set. Be sure to check out Kristina's blog, click here!

Sunny Days is available at Artfuldelight for $10.99.

Artfuldelight's new stamp set (re-release)

Good morning fellow crafters! About a month ago I got a little excited and I released my stamp set before I was really ready. Heck I didn't even have the stamps in my possession yet. I didn't advertise or have many projects to share. So I decided to do things the right way and have a "re-release" of my first exclusive stamp set. :-)

I have a few guest designers this week to help me out. So here it is and thanks to Marlene for helping me pick the name: Sunny Days

Oh the packaging is superb. I just love it, my illustrator did an amazing job. Artfuldelight's stamps are high quality photopolymer clear stamps and are 100% made in the USA!

My first guest designer will be Catherine!

Hello, my name is Catherine Oakley and I live in Colorado. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 8 years and together we are blessed with 3 boys (5, 7, and 16). I am a stay at home mom and work part time in children’s ministry at my church. I have been scrapbooking and card making for 6 years and love how I am able to preserve my memories as art. I am currently a member of the Queen Scraps and Crop Chocolate design teams and have been published a few times in on-line scrapbooking publications. I have dabbled in altered projects and also enjoy producing mini-albums. As for my style, I tend to think it is fairly simple but then again, I love a little embellishing here and there too. Really I think my style is just “me”…whatever suits my fancy at the time I sit down to create is what I produce. First and foremost I am a wife and mom which is often what inspires my layouts. We love the outdoors and spend as much time as we can enjoying the beauty that surrounds us – camping, hiking, fishing or simply taking a walk around the neighborhood.

Click here to check out Catherine's blog!

Here is the card Catherine made for us today

Ooohhh, I love how this card turned out. Simply fabulous. Catherine used the "Thank You" sentiment and sunflowers from the set. I love how she popped out the leaves.

I will also share with you a LO that Crystal made.

I am a wife to a very loving and supportive husband, and a Stay at home mom to one very active little 2.5 year old girl. She is the reason I got back into scrapping. I have been scrapping as long as I can remember, in some form or another. I really became addicted after my tour of duty in Iraq in 2005; but it has been going strong since right before our daughter was born in 2007. I love to scrapbook, alter items, and dabble in cards and jewelry making these days. Creating is my stress reliever for just ME! I have designed for several blogs/companies and enjoyed my time while learning lots of new ideas! I am so excited to be the guest designer here at Artful Delight!

Click here to check out Crystal's blog!

What an adorable little girl! I love how Crystal got creative with the clouds from the set and used them for the journal spot. The 3 cupcakes are also from the set, she just used the cupcake and not the plate or sunflower that came with it. I think this LO turned out amazing. Super CUTE!

I would like to thank all 4 ladies for helping me out this week. I have 2 more designers to highlight tomorrow as well as show you more projects from Crystal and Catherine.

Sunny Days is now available for purchase at Artfuldelight! They sell for $10.99 so be sure to check them out.

Let's gut it

Oh, yay it's Friday! I have my Computer Concepts class this morning, bright and early at 8am. Yippee! I am also excited that registration for next semester is coming up soon. I have my classes picked out and I am a bit nervous. I will be taking a lot of Accounting classes. It might be a really rough semester. Oh well, I can handle it. :-)

So today I have another LO to share with you. Jamie did a wonderful job.Ooohhh, I LOVE the corrugated chipboard pumpkin. Those really are super cool in person. Do ya see the flower, that is ALSO super cool. Jamie said she learned how to do that from Pink Paislee's DT member, Stacey Michud. Jamie used one of the canvas borders from this months kit to make the flower.
Oh how I love this months kit. Don't forget to enter my giveaway! It ends October 23.

Lots of goodies

*be sure to scroll down to see my other post for today*

Ok, so I am a little late getting this posted, I think I said I wanted this to be posted yesterday but better late than never.

I am going through a de-stashing of my stash. I get so overwhelmed with stuff that I have which is kinda crazy because I don't have that much. I have A LOT of paper. More paper pads than I know what to do with. I find myself rummaging through my stuff for 30 minutes prior being able to craft just trying to find something to use. It gets frustrating, especially when I may only have 35-40 minutes to craft.
Well enough about that, let's get to the good stuff. If you read my post the other day announcing I was going to have a giveaway I said that most of the stuff I have is partially used. I have a number of paper pads, some with just a few sheets missing. I have several packs of 12x12 pattern paper from Stampin' UP! and then I also have a bunch of embellishments.

Holy bad pictures Batman!! I usually craft and take pictures at night and so of course the lighting is horrible. I try not to do anything crafty during the day when my kids are awake because I fear their little grubby paws will dirty something or rip something and then I would be sad. Not mad because it's just material things, they can be replaced....but I would be a wee bit sad.

I may add more stuff before the giveaway is over. To the winner, just know you will get a box of goodies. I have paper pads from Memory Box, Cosmo Cricket, Sassafras, Nikki Sivils, Graphic 45 and Basic Grey. I have an unused Material Girl Crafting Kit from Cosmo Cricket. Plus a bunch of embellishments. So all you have to do is leave a comment on this post and that's it. Easy!

This giveaway will end October 23rd at 11:59pm EST.

Happy Crafting!!

SFYTT 10/9/10

Whoa, I was about to say Happy Wednesday, when I realized that it's Thursday. Yikes, another week flying by. Today's card uses DeLovely paper pad from Cosmo Cricket. This paper pad is so bright and cheerful. I just love it.

All of the pattern paper is from the DeLovely collection and the cardstock is from Stampin' UP! Mambo Melon? I think that's the name. Well what I do know is it matched perfectly.

The DeLovely paper pad is available at Artfuldelight. :-) I am going to have the giveaway posted up later today so check back.

Have you checked out this month's kit over at Artfuldelight? It is superb. Lots of great embellishments to spice up any LO or card. There are only a few more left so be sure to check it out. Click here!

Creepy Crew

Good Morning! Life has been a bit busy lately. I have not had much time to craft at all. School is going well and I am glad my first semester is about half over. I really don't enjoy English much at all. I will be taking next semester off from taking English. LOL!

So anywho, I have a LO to share with you that Jamie created using October's Monthly kit.
Look at that super fun spider web! LOVE it! I really like the Thickers in this months kit. Another fabulous LO from Jamie. Only a couple more weeks and we will be welcoming our new ladies to the team. I am really excited about November's kit. We will be including items that you may not normally see in a Scrapbook kit and I hope by doing this will attract BOTH scrappers and card makers to the monthly kit.

OH, I will also be having another giveaway. Sort of a de-stashing. Is that a word? Well I have been looking at my uber messy desk with paper pads and embellishments and stuff that I just haven't used in forever. SO, the stuff I have is sort of used. For example I have some 6x6 paper pads that may have a few sheets missing from it that I used. A package of brads may have one or two or a few missing. There are no sheets in the pads however that are half sheets or anything just a few missing. Another example of what I will have is a Halloween paper pad from Graphic 45, Hallowe'en in Wonderland. I think I used like 3-4 sheets out of the pad, other than that it's all there. I also have some stuff that has never been used. So anywho, check back either later today or maybe even in the morning for the posting with the giveaway! YIPPEE, I love giveaways, don't you?

Flying kitty & WMC26

Good Morning everyone! So I have been on a Cricut kick since I found that LO the other day. I haven't dabbled in to anything serious yet but I did use it to cut the "Happy Halloween" sentiment. I participated in Wee Memories, Scrappy Saturday Challenge #26.

Isn't that kitty cute! It's from Digital Delights. Short but sweet post for today. Don't forget to take advantage of the free shipping over at Artfuldelight, the offer ends October 31.

Oldie but Goodie

Hello blogosphere! Quick post today. I was going through my stuff last night and I came across this scrapbook LO I did awhile ago, actually it was one of the first things I made using my Cricut. I was still so new to the machine and I didn't have everything programmed right so this LO took me or shall I say my Cricut about 20 minutes to cut it out. Really I can't even wrap my mind around that machine cutting such a delicate design though.

The Cricut cut out all the white part. How sotally cool is that! Yup that's right I said "sotally". LOL! Side note, we were talking with my daughter the other night and she claims she misspoke when she said "sotally" but it came out so natural that I am not sure it was an accident. LOL! So now I am going to say sotally.

Anywho, I was really pleased with the way this LO turned out. I haven't found the perfect pic to put in there yet so I am just going to hold on to it until I do.

October 7, 2010

Thanks and SFYTT 10/2/10

Sometimes I am not sure if I like the fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants way of crafting. I feel a bit envious of those that can create from a sketch or start with a particular layout in mind and the end result is exactly what they visioned. Me on the other hand, I really have no idea what the end result will be until the end. LOL! Even if I work from a sketch, something won't go as planned.

My point is, the card I have to share with you today totally was supposed to be Halloween themed. I tried to use the Halloween colors and I used my Cosmo Cricket's Matilda collection 6x6 paper pad (also available at Artfuldelight). I wanted to use either a pumpkin or some sort of paper and I ended up not using any of that. So in the end there is not an ounce of "Halloween" type items on this card. Which may also bring me to talking about how great the Matilda collection is, even though it would seem primarily Halloween themed, the colors are a bit Halloweenie, most of the papers don't have any Halloween theme to it at all, making this perfect for even after the holiday. My card turned out more Fall-ish than Halloweenie. LOL! Well now that I have talked your ear off (I think I am trying to get myself in essay mode for the essay I need to write, comparing and contrasting men and women) Side note, ya know you would think that writing this essay would be simple, but one of two things has me stumped. One is that my boyfriend is in the same class as I am, so I don't want to write about the same thing he is and well that's mostly it. When he told me what he was writing about I thought omg that is totally funny and would be awesome to write about. He is writing about men's lack of attention to detail, that could go in so many directions. Anyone have any suggestions about things their husbands do that is just off the wall and way different than women. I am sure my man does the same thing. LOL! Marlene (if you're reading this) I could use some of your snark right about now! LOL!

Really! Now for the card. I participated in this week's SFYTT over at i{heart}2stamp. Here is the sketch.

Aren't those Thickers just divine? I love them! See the colors in the buttons, I totally was choosing colors to match the Halloween colors in the Matilda collection but ended up with some greens and blacks and a mustard color. LOL! That stamp is from Memory Box but I can't think of the name right now. Those Thickers are available at Artfuldelight.

Artfuldelight's Design Team

Good Morning my friends! I had originally wanted to have this all said and done by October 1 BUT, it has been no easy decision. I knew going in to this that it would be tough but I didn't know it would be this tough. BUT without further ado I would like to introduce to you Artfuldelight's first DESIGN TEAM! I will have 4 members that will get to share their creativity every month, I will also have a couple guest designers over the next 2 months. Ok, here we go:

Debbie

I've been scrapbooking for almost 12 years. I received a scrapbook about me as a birthday gift. I took one Creative Memories class and was hooked! I also had the opportunity to work in a LSS years ago. I worked my way up in the ranks and eventually was in charge of ordering the inventory, taught classes and designed page kits!

I don't really have a style when it comes to my layouts. It's always a little bit of this and a little bit of that; I love layering and using a mix of pattern paper. If I had to choose one item I can't live without when it comes to scrapbooking I would say inks. I love the effect of inked edges.

Check out Debbie's blog here: Love Life's Little Pleasures

April

I'm April Walker, 32, and I live in western NC, surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. I've been married to my amazing hubby Mark for 12 years now, and we have two gorgeous daughters, Emily and Madison. I'm a stay-at-home-mom to them and I absolutely love it, especially because it gives me more time to create! :)

I've been a scrapbooker for about 2 1/2 years and a cardmaker for a little over a year. I got started with scrapbooking because of my passion for photography. I've always taken tons of pictures and just having them sit in albums wasn't making me very happy. One day I came across a scrapbooking website and that was it...I was in love! Being able to use those pictures that I love so much and put them together with a story is just perfect for me. Nothing makes me happier than sitting down and recording those memories for my family...and getting to play with all the pretty paper is a bonus too! ;)

I am SO excited to have been chosen as a part of Leeanne's first DT and I can't wait to get creating!!

Check out April's blog here: Scrapper Forever

Courtney

Hi I’m Court and I LOVE to craft. I’m a housewife to the most incredible man I have ever met, Hans, and we
live in San Francisco, California. When I started crafting with the Cuttlebug™, I knew I was born to emboss. Now I know I can do so much more and am enjoying the process and wherever God takes me on this adventure. I hope I can provide you with inspiration as well. Ask me anything - I’m an open card! :) Have a beautiful day!

Check out Courtney's blog here: Court's Crafts

Jamie

My name is Jamie Sexton & I live in Alabama with the love of my life, our 11 year old son (Mason), our 3 year old daughter (Morgan), 2 cocker spaniels, a cat, a turtle, & 2 fish. We pretty much have a zoo around here! I started scrapping about 5 years ago when a family member gave me a small scrapbook she was keeping for my son & I haven't looked back since! I love the fact that scrapbooking gives me the opportunity to be creative, something that doesn't always come naturally to me, & at the same time allows me to do something with our family photos other than stick them in an album or box somewhere.

So there ya have it, the lovely ladies that will be sharing their work with you on my blog. I am so excited and cannot wait to get started in November!

Wish Big

Happy Monday fellow crafters! Today I have a super fun, bright, and colorful LO to share with you. Jamie did a fabulous job again. She used the It's Your Day collection from Fancy Pants to make this LO. It is available at Artfuldelight.
I love the large numbers and those candles, can you say CUTE! Jamie used some pattern paper and Mod Podge to create those. I love how she used a candle as the "i" in wish.

Have you checked out this month's kit. Be sure to check it out at Artfuldelight. Take advantage of the free shipping on orders over $35 (domestic orders) and also check out the Dollar Bin.

Happy Sunday, just some randomness!

OH happy day. I am loving this Fall weather we are having. We are about 70 degrees by day and 45 degrees by night. I can handle this weather the rest of the season. LOL! So unfortunately I don't have a project for you today. I have been trying to get the new DT in place and all the details hammered out. I will be posting the new Design Team tomorrow. I am so excited about this!

I would just like to post a few things about Artfuldelight. First I have listed a bunch of products in the "Dollar Bin" so be sure to check it out. I will be adding more later today as well. Also I have lowered the price a bit on the monthly kits. Well mostly in the shipping. I dropped the shipping down to $5.00. YIPPEE!

Last but certainly not least, I am now offering shipping to Canada and Internationally. There will be flat rate shipping charges. Shipping to Canada will cost a flat rate of $9.95 and International shipping will cost a flat rate of $17.95.

Ok well tune in tomorrow for the reveal of Artfuldelight's fabulous new Design Team!!!

Seriously this kit is so awesome! I will have some projects using this kit to showcase next week from the fabulous Jamie. She will have another busy month of crafting and then starting in November I will have the DT starting. Seriously this has been a really tough choice to pick just 3 people. I am having a total of 4 members but Jamie is one, so out of all the applicants I can only chose 3. VERY difficult. So that is why it is taking a bit longer. I mean really how to tell someone so talented that they weren't chosen for your team. So I would just like to make sure everyone realizes that it is a super difficult decision! Ok well enough about that for now, head on over to Artfuldelight and get your hands on this kit before they are all gone. Also check out all the fabulous products I have for sale!

Happy Crafting!!
